It has been so great getting to know you at our various events this past weeks. Hope you have been having a happy Monday so far- our prayers are with you all this week, that you may be able to continue to find rest and energy and that you may grow in your relationship with Jesus. Hope to see you at these upcoming events as well!
START OUT FALL BREAK RIGHT & GET EXCITED FOR OUR ANNUAL CHAPTER FALL RETREAT! You’ll have an opportunity to enjoy some fun time in the outdoors, reflect on how the year has been so far, and relax and connect with new and old friends in the chapter. Fall Retreat will be from 7 pm on Friday, October 14 to 5 pm on Saturday, October 15.
Our hope is that new students and returning members alike may come together to commit to each other and embrace the value of having a spiritual community as we strive to spread the Gospel on our campus.
Cost is $15 for returning members and free for new students! We will be subsidizing costs of $30 per person, so if you are able, please feel free to pay more. Venmo to @AIVat-UMich, pay by check to Asian InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, or pay in cash when you get there!
Please complete the form to register and sign up for a ride! If you need to leave early, write it down in the Comments/Special Requests section.
If you haven’t yet gotten plugged into one of our community groups, please join our Facebook groups and/contact a leader to get involved! Community groups are the heart of our chapter. They are a place for everyone, regardless of spiritual background, to learn more about Christianity and build fun community that loves and cares for one another and campus. This semester, we are studying scripture from the book of Luke.

Sign up for InterVarsity’s Compelling Conference! This weekend is time set aside to discover more of who God is, to learn how to hear His voice and what His purposes are for you, and to develop relationships with other AIVers/IV students from across Michigan.
Compelling is for anyone who is just curious to learn more about God and also for those who have followed Christ for years. There are tracks devoted to Bible study, tracks exploring the purpose of sexuality, tracks about intercessory prayer, and even more. Cost is $130 if you register before Oct.7. Rides will be provided and scholarships are available. Questions? Talk to your CG leader and don’t miss out!!
Don’t let money keep you from going to Compelling! AIV offers new students a scholarship for discounted registration. Returning members can also receive scholarships. Contact Oliver Lam or Grace Wan.
AIV is a para-church ministry, which essentially means that we are not a church- our students attend various churches on campus. We coordinate rides to Knox Presbyterian Church and Grace Ann Arbor; here is also a list of other churches in the Ann Arbor area.
“BE JOYFUL IN HOPE, PATIENT IN AFFLICTION, FAITHFUL IN PRAYER.” –ROMANS 12:12
Join us in prayer Wednesday nights from 9:30-11:00 pm at Victor’s @Mojo! Submit any prayer requests here- we love praying for you.
President Schlissel recently sent out an email regarding recent campus events. This Thursday is the launch of the hugely significant five-year plan for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at the University of Michigan. As APIA students, it is important that we are present and a part of this conversation! Here is an excel sheet with a list of the various events this week- whether you want to go alone or with others, please consider attending the various events this week!
Many blessings this week!
